Florida Boy Suffers Head Injury when Golf Cart Tips
In early April, an 11-year-old child was injured when a golf cart he was driving tipped over in Cocoa, Florida. Although this may have been his fault or even his parents we don’t really know based on the facts we have. Although it is known that golf cart injuries do happen a lot in the state of Florida since our state is home to many golf courses as well as communities where golf carts are used. Not many people know what the laws governing golf carts are or if they are injured in or by one if there is anything that can be done.
If you are injured by a golf cart or if you are injured while being a passenger of one, you have a few options as to what to do; first of all, you must know who owns the golf cart. If it is a rental, then you could go after the company that rents them out. If they did not adequately screen the person driving the golf cart, or if the golf cart was unsafe for a certain reason. Most golf cart rental companies will have an insurance policy to cover for these very incidents. You may also go after the driver sometimes the insurance the driver has for his own automobile will cover golf carts that person drives as well. If the golf cart is owned privately then the second option of going after the driver may be your only bet, unless the owner of the golf cart carries some sort of insurance on the golf cart itself. If you are the driver of the golf cart you may have another option which is to see if your own automobile insurance will cover some of it.
